Counselling can help you work through difficulties or problems such as:

  • childhood trauma & abuse;
  • low self esteem;
  • various crisis situations;
  • spirituality and stress issues.

We offer counselling to anyone aged over 16 who is in need.  We are a Christian organisation, but you don’t have to be a Christian to use the service.  Counselling would only include issues of faith at your request.

    No set charge is made for the service, but we ask clients to agree to make a regular donation towards the cost of their counselling however minimal, as we rely on donations to continue the service.

    Starting Counselling

    When you phone to request counselling your details will be taken by the receptionist, and passed onto our Clinical Practice Team, who will contact you when an initial appointment is available.

    This appointment would normally last for an hour,  where you can discuss areas that you feel need addressing, and ask any questions you may have.

After your initial appointment, you will be placed as soon as possible with the counsellor who we feel is best able to help you.  We make a contract with each person who uses the service where individual requirements are noted.

Talking things through and having someone to share your journey really does make a difference.

To arrange an appointment or for more information please phone 01484 461098.

About our Counselling

UCHM is an independent BACP Accredited Counselling Service and works to BACP Ethical Framework.  All counsellors are either working towards accreditation or are accredited by BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy) or ACC (Association of Christian Counsellors).

UCHM's model is integrative. The central core model is person-centred with psychodynamic insight.  We work with each client in the way that is the most appropriate for them.
